Davis County Chief Deputy Attorney Bill McGuire said his office has not decided if it plans to seek the death penalty, which is one of the possible sentences if Drommond is convicted.
Drommond, 29, is accused of shooting Janeil Drommond in Bountiful on Sunday when she arrived at his apartment to drop off their two children, ages 3 and 2, for a visitation.
Prosecutors filed the charges Tuesday in 2nd Dist-rict Court. Drommond is also charged with first-degree attempted aggravated murder in connection with the shooting of Janeil's father, Neil Reed Bradley, and with a class A misdemeanor for violating a protective order. Prosecutors said Janeil received an e-mail Aug. 16 from Drommond.
