Non-Profit Will Allow Custodial Child Exchanges without Parents Interacting.

The tragic circumstances of yesterday's shooting when a man allegedly shot his ex-wife in front of their two children, are shocking, but not uncommon. Parents who ought to stay apart often get together to exchange children. There's a new facility being created to solve that exact problem.

Violent history preceded slaying.

David Drommond put his hands around his ex-wife's neck and choked her.
After threatening to kill her, he eventually let her go, but, according to an affidavit Janeil Drommond would later write about the March 20 incident, he "could not promise me that what happened tonight wouldn't happen again."
Police say David carried out the threat to kill Janeil when he fatally shot her on his front steps Sunday.
Well before the shooting, Janeil described her ex-husband as a man who had problems controlling his anger.
In her petition for a protective order, filed the day after he allegedly choked her, Janeil said that before they were married, David "got very angry with his mom one day and he was pacing in the backyard hitting himself in the head." She claimed that after they wed, there were other outbursts, such as his pounding his fist through a wall or on the kitchen table when they argued.
"He's gotten very angry several times, but he usually just gets in the car and leaves," Janeil wrote.
Married on Halloween 1995, the couple had a son in February 2002 and a daughter in June 2003. David and Janeil Drommond split in May 2004, according to court records, and a divorce decree was issued in January.
Todd Weiler, Janeil's attorney, said the divorce was amicable. Janeil took David the paperwork, he made suggestions, and the two reached agreements without going to court, Weiler said.
"Out of all the divorces I've handled, this is one of the smoothest," Weiler said.
In the divorce, the couple agreed to joint legal custody of the children with the mother retaining physical custody, meaning the children lived with her, and David received "liberal visitation" rights.
But things apparently took a turn in the early hours of March 20, when, according to Janeil's petition, David became angry at her for calling a male friend on his company cell phone. He went to her home in Woods Cross, argued with her, then threw her to the ground and choked her for 30 to 60 seconds.
"He told me he had come here to kill me," Janeil wrote. "He said a lot of things, like: 'I've wanted you dead for a while now. We have a decision to make, either I'm going to kill you or you're going to kill me tonight.' " Janeil wrote that David had tried several times to commit suicide and was upset she didn't love him anymore.
He left about 3 a.m. and she called her father and Woods Cross police.
David Drommond was charged in the Woods Cross Justice Court with domestic violence assault, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. David was a first-time offender who appeared to be "very remorseful" and was accepting responsibility for his actions, according to D. Michael
Nielsen, who prosecutes criminal cases for Woods Cross, West Bountiful and North Salt Lake.
Nielsen said he offered David a plea in abeyance, whereby the defendant's guilty plea was to be held for six months and then dismissed if he completed counseling and treatment, and committed no new offenses.
Nielsen called the April 14 plea resolution "a typical treatment for first offenses if the attitude is one of remorse and acceptance" of responsibility.
"It's sad that this one didn't work out," Nielsen said.
Because of the new homicide allegation, Nielsen said he is now drafting a document asking Justice Court Judge Robert Peters to enter David Drommond's plea as a conviction.
In granting Janeil's protective order, the 3rd District judge retained David's visitation rights but ordered her to deliver and pick up the couple's children at David Drommond's parents' home on Bountiful's east bench.
On Sunday, though, for some reason still unknown to police, Janeil took the children to David's residence in the 200 West block of Bountiful's Lyman Lane.
"I don't believe she believed he was capable of doing something like this," Weiler said.
As David Drommond opened the door, police say, the children ran inside and their father stepped out, firing two shots at Janeil. Her father, 53-year-old Neil Reed Bradley, who came to keep the peace between the former couple and was waiting in a car only a few feet away, ran to her aid. David then shot him in the abdomen and wrist, police said.
"It looks at this point that it was a premeditated kind of a deal," said police Lt. Steve Gray.
David Drommond, who is in the Davis County Jail, is not cooperating with investigators, Gray said Monday. As for what spurred him to allegedly shoot his ex-wife, Gray said, "The straw that broke the camel's back, we think, is her plan to get remarried."
That wedding, Gray said, was supposed to occur sometime at the end of this week.
University Hospital listed Bradley in critical condition Monday.

Bountiful Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Injured
BOUNTIFUL, Utah A man allegedly shot his ex-wife to death and wounded her father in front of the couple's two children, police said.

The man then tried to shoot himself but the gun jammed. As he ran away, trying to clear the weapon, neighbors and his roommate pursued him, took away the gun and held him until police arrived.

David Drommond, 29, was booked for investigation of capital homicide and attempted murder.

Police Lt. Steve Gray said the man apparently planned to kill his ex-wife and then take his own life. He said Drommond composed a letter on his computer and printed it out. The contents were not disclosed.

The shooting Sunday took place at the entrance to the suspect's condominium, police said.

The mother had arrived to take custody of the boys, about 4 and 6. She brought along her father because she feared a confrontation, authorities said.

When she arrived at the door, the man alleged came out shooting, hitting her in the chest and head.

Her 54-year-old father, who had waited in the car, got out and approached Drommond, but was shot in the arm and chest. He was flown to University Hospital, where he was reported in serious condition but expected to recover.

The victims' names had not yet been released.

Gray said the woman had a protective order against her ex-husband.

She was to be married Friday, said Jeff Nemelka, one of the neighbors involved in seizing Drommond.

The children were placed with family members Sunday night, Gray said.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

Iteration.

So, I find myself distracted by something more trivial than my own stalking problem, which is a relief. I need the break. Maybe I'll get into that another entry.

I also have a wonderful new friend who makes me smile when I want to cry. I think the world of them and I just barely met them. I'm very grateful to have people in my life that make me forget about everything and lose myself for a few hours. They're my drug of choice. Thank you to my friends.

Tired.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting so much lately, other than news reports. I haven't been feeling too well lately. When it rains, it pours.

I haven't really been doing much of anything recently. Nobody's responded to my reports yet. I think I'm losing hope. I've given up on everything. I'm trying so hard to keep going, to keep fighting. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I didn't think it would be this bleak. The only response I had ever gotten was when the Lieu called me back and said he checked out the site. CJC hasn't said anything to me, FTC hasn't, FBI. Nobody.

Everything seems to be going wrong right now. Several lightbulbs in my house have gone out, my keyboard broke, my vacuum's fan belt broke. Not much to any average person, but it's like the straw that broke the camel's back to me. I just want some calm, just one day where nothing goes wrong. Am I asking too much? One day that I'm not trapped with my memories, with my knowledge.

I can understand why some people become drug addicts, become alcoholics, commit suicide. I'm too stubborn to do any of the above but, it's still in the back of my mind. It's still there, how easy it would be to lose myself in alcohol, how easy it would be to swerve my car off a cliff on my way home. It's funny, when I think about all this, it crosses my mind what people would think when they see the mess in my house. If I kill myself, people would come into my house and see it, and I couldn't handle that.

Maybe I just need a vacation.

Hope all of you are doing much better than I am.

If anything can go wrong, it will. ~Murphy's Law

Maiffret expects hackers to quickly take advantage of the hole, and that a worm may be on its way as we speak.

Shadows.

I'm proudly mentioned on the Shadows creator's blog. Andrew didn't have much of a nice thing to say, other than I'm competitive, and my comments were poor quality.
Position Harvesting
I guess it's kind of like spag (spam tags), but different. So you may notice that number 4 on the Shadows Top 5 Tagged Pages list is foobaicom. I actually watched as over a period of three hours more than a dozen new accounts were created and tagged the site. It appears to be some kind of restaurant review site, but since it's in Chinese I can't be entirely certain. Whatever it is, someone involved with it orchestrated a campaign to get in the top 5 list at Shadows.
Now I don't really have a problem with this - I'm all for users tagging anything they want. And it's, in principle, great that a site is encouraging its users to come to Shadows to tag and rate the site. What's a little irritating in this case is that the users never came back, they left poor quality comments, and they generally didn't participate in the community. This is amplified by the fact that Shadows is less then a month a old and doesn't have a huge user base yet, so this kind of "harvesting" of tags to get position is easier. In the future it will be much more difficult.
It is interesting to watch emmergent behaviour around this type of stuff though. For example, our number 1 commentor - IdentityMIA is very competitive - if someone moves up to the number 1 position s/he comes back and comments more stuff. This is almost great. However, the quality of most of the comments is low. Whereas, riddle the #2 commentor has very high quality comments. We'll eventually join these with the user rating mechanism to introduce some means of quality control.
The joys of a new ecosystem!
I also noticed someone Googled me. Sorry you didn't find much but this and my Shadows. Fear not, I'm trying to get my name out there, one site at a time. I've already corrupted Shadows. Thank you, Andrew. I promise I'll work on my comments.

Hypocrisy.

My "Anti-Stalker" annoyance seems to have dug themselves into a grave of hypocrisy.

Also, when you told your story you mentioned Edwards’s full name. I ran a Google search to find out if the story was true or not. Obviously it was.

If that worries you then so be it...
They posted someone else's story, a private citizen's story, and thinks that's okay. But when I research a public figure, I'm a "Stalker."

Perhaps plumber mark would be willing to post his "credentials"

After all, if I am going to e-mail him, I sure would like to know that he is a "bonafide" plumber and not some poser...
I'm sorry, isn't that what I was doing? Can you say "Hypocrite"?

Not only are they a hypocrite, but they decided to attack others for NO reason.

Anyone who is being stalked is just being dumber than bean dip if she discloses her e-mail addy to someone on this site she does not know and know well...

Can you say, "Please hack into my computer Mr. Stalker dude, 'cause after all I have learned from being a victim, I'm still breathless about the prospect of you invading my privacy one last time???"
